how these apps work

write everything down
a seizure tracker

My neurologist asked me to write everything down, what was happening during a seizure, and before and after. I needed buttons to press and prompts to help my brain back online, so I made this app. It's just a reliable place to record the seizures. The basic function is to keep a log of events that you can glance through and get a good idea of what's been going on. I want to help with other illnesses too, like Lyme and Long COVID, but for now it's epilepsy.

Your data stays on your device, in whatever browser you're using, not on a server. So use the export feature from time to time so you have a backup.

recording a seizure

Tap as it happened to start recording an event. The app walks you through eight steps:

You can save on any question screen and come back to all this later, like if you need to crash or just can't focus. When you're ready, go to 'the records' section, edit the record, and go to any step and change your answer.

the record

This section shows records by month. At the end of a month it shows a count of how many events you logged that month. You can filter by preset numbers of days, and you can search the records for whatever you're trying to find.

medications & team

Maybe like me you end up establishing care at a lot of new specialists. This is your space to record which doctors you're seeing.

The intake question everywhere that makes my heart sink is 'List all the medications you're currently taking'—and then there's 3 tiny lines... Anyway, make your medications list for ready reference. It speeds things up.

And then there's a pharmacy shopping list function, because standing in CVS trying to remember what you were there for gets old fast. Make the list, check of things as you get them, then archive the list so you can look back and remember what you got last time.

in case of emergency

Right down the bottom left is your 'in case of emergency' card. I hope you'll never need it, but just in case here it is. You can store the information you might need to show a first responder.

presenting your record to your doctor

The present to doctor view shows your record—good for something like showing your phone to your neurologist at an appointment. I'm sorry if they tell you the font's too small.

your data

Under manage my data you can export all your records as a JSON file, import a previous backup, or clear everything and start fresh. Export regularly, because this app uses your browser's local storage, so there's no cloud backup or user account.

fragment
an image puzzle

Fragment is a low-key tile puzzle I made to have something to do when I'm feeling like glue after a seizure. It cuts a painting (all curated from the public domain) into a grid. You swap one tile for another until the image comes together. You can increase the difficulty by increasing the grid size. It's nice if you like puzzles.

how to play

Tap a tile, tap another, and they swap. Keep going until you put the image together. There's a 'peek' button too, so you can have a look at the complete image.

the collection

There are forty-six public domain images of paintings to choose from, but you're not at the mercy of my taste: you can bring your own image from your phone photos.

Tap browse collection to see the art collection and choose an image.
